Job summary

CyberCoders in Westmont, IL is seeking a Senior Audit Associate or Lead Auditor with public accounting experience to lead engagements, mentor staff, and progress toward an Audit Manager career path.

You will supervise audits from planning through issuance, perform risk assessments, manage budgets, and serve as a primary client contact while collaborating with firm leadership. Requires 5+ years external audit, Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and active or in-progress CPA licensure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of external audit or assurance experience in a public accounting firm
• Active CPA license or pursuing CPA exam requirements
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, financial statement prep, and internal control evaluation
• Experience leading audit engagements, managing deadlines, and supervising junior staff
• Strong client communication, project management, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Lead financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations from planning through issuance
• Perform risk assessments, evaluate internal controls, and develop audit procedures
• Execute audit testing, review workpapers, and prepare financial statements and management letters
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff auditors while reviewing engagement work for accuracy and quality
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, deliverables, and client expectations
• Serve as a primary contact for client leadership, controllers, and finance teams throughout engagements
• Identify control deficiencies, operational risks, and process improvement opportunities
• Collaborate directly with firm partners on client service, engagement strategy, and professional development initiatives
