The Food Safety and Inspection Service seeks an experienced auditor to conduct and oversee onsite and virtual financial and compliance reviews of state agency operations, financial systems, and practices.
A degree in auditing or related field is required, plus 4 years in performance auditing, and CPA or CIA certification. Telework is eligible. This role is with FSIS, Department of Agriculture, focusing on cooperative inspection programs and ensuring effective financial controls.
This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), conducts a program of financial activities applicable to State agencies that receive FSIS funds for the Cooperative Inspection Programs.
Conduct and oversee onsite and virtual financial and compliance reviews of State agency operations, financial systems, and practices.
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge.
The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.

The posted pay range is $126797 – $164841/yr.
