Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to lead assurance engagements and provide experienced leadership within the Latham, NY office. The role focuses on planning, executing, and guiding audits for a diverse client base while strengthening the local team.

The successful candidate will manage engagement budgets, review work products, and ensure standards compliance, with opportunities for advancement toward Principal or Partner as the firm grows in the Capital Region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
• Active CPA license strongly preferred.
• Progressive public-accounting audit experience.
• Current or previous Audit Manager or Senior Audit Manager title preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS.
• Experience managing engagements and reviewing financial statements.
• Demonstrated client-management and staff-development experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage audit and assurance engagements.
• Review financial statements, workpapers and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and firm quality requirements.
• Manage engagement schedules, staffing, budgets and client expectations.
• Serve as a primary contact for audit clients.
• Identify accounting, reporting and internal-control issues.
• Review staff work and provide technical guidance.
• Coach and develop employees.
• Coordinate engagements across multiple offices.
• Provide a consistent leadership presence in the Latham office.
• Support client growth and broader firm initiatives.
