Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead daily dock operations and personnel in Virginia Beach. You will supervise loading, unloading, and movement of material, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include maintaining outbound shipment documentation, coordinating trailer moves, and delivering superior service to internal and external customers, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 3 years of related work experience.
• Valid state driver's license, insurance, and satisfactory driving record.

Job description

Position Summary

To provide direction and supervise dock activities and personnel. Ensure the safe and expedient loading, unloading and movement of material, preventative maintenance check on equipment, and accomplish any other tasks as directed by the Manager, Transportation or Assistant Manager, Transportation.

Essential Duties

3. 3. Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.

5. 5. Provide trailer movement as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 3 Years' experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• Valid state driver's license, insurance and satisfactory driving record are required.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

• The associate works in an environment with frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
