Job summary

AJ Construction, Inc. in Richland, MS, is seeking an experienced Asphalt Plant Foreman to lead daily operations of our asphalt production facility in the Jackson metro area. The ideal candidate drives safety, quality, and efficiency, supervising plant personnel and coordinating maintenance to maximize uptime.

Salary ranges from $75,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on experience. A hands-on leader with solid knowledge of asphalt production and MDOT specs is preferred to ensure reliable,

Qualifications

• Experience operating and managing an asphalt plant.
• Strong understanding of asphalt mix production and quality control.
• Knowledge of asphalt plant maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Leadership experience supervising plant personnel.
• Ability to plan production and prioritize maintenance.
• Familiarity with computerized plant control systems.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all daily asphalt plant operations
• Supervise plant operators, loader operators, and plant personnel
• Ensure safe, efficient, and productive plant operations
• Schedule and coordinate asphalt production to meet customer and project demands
• Monitor mix quality and ensure compliance with customer and MDOT specifications
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot plant and equipment issues
• Maintain plant inventory, including liquid asphalt, aggregates, fuel, and additives
• Work closely with dispatch, paving crews, quality control, and management
• Maintain accurate production, inventory, and maintenance records
• Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork
