Job summary

UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham, part of UAB Medicine, seeks a Security Team Leader to supervise officers and maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.

You will monitor performance, coordinate activities, and handle incidents and routine security duties across campus, including vehicle patrols and traffic control. A valid driver’s license and healthcare security credentials are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Requires valid driver's license prior to hire or transfer date.
• BLS Provider preferred; American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Law enforcement experience preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior credential from MABTI preferred.
• Security Professional preferred.
• Security Guard roles in healthcare preferred.
• Security Guard with Weapon Permit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned security officers to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Monitor, guide, and evaluate staff performance.
• Coordinate activities, prioritize workflow, and support decision-making and problem solving.
• Perform duties of a security officer and ensure teamwork and accurate staff reporting.
• Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards; address escalated issues.
• Assist Security Manager with shift staffing, planning, budgets, staff development, and committee chair duties.
• Operate vehicle safely; provide traffic and parking enforcement within campus area; participate in foot and vehicle patrols.
