Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a security officer to provide a safe environment for staff and visitors at UAB St. Vincent's St.Clair. The role includes proactive monitoring, incident investigation, and guidance on alarms and disaster preparedness.

A high school diploma or equivalent, Alabama concealed carry permit, and a valid Alabama driver’s license are required, with BLS certification due within 30 days. Preference is given to candidates with Security Professional experience and the ability to

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• In state (Alabama) concealed carry weapons permit required.
• Driver's License credentialed from the Alabama DMV required.
• Security Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge/follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operates in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience

What You Will Do
