Job summary

UAB Medicine’s security team at UAB St. Vincent’s East in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a vigilant security professional to provide safety services for staff and visitors.

You will monitor and respond to threats, investigate incidents, and support drills and emergency plans to maintain a secure environment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (or related experience), a current BLS certification within 30 days, and an Alabama concealed carry permit.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Alabama concealed carry permit required.
• Driver’s license issued by Alabama DMV required.
• Security professional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform proactive monitoring and timely responses to security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Follow alarm procedures and assist with drills and emergency/disaster plans.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
