Job summary

Glenn Rieder, LLC in Las Vegas seeks a Fabrication & Sheet Metal Supervisor to lead daily on the shop floor, directing Fabrication and Sheet Metal teams, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time production.

This hands-on role requires strong knowledge of architectural metal fabrication, a focus on first-time-right quality, and collaboration with engineering, purchasing, and finishing to optimize workflow.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in architectural or related metal fabrication environments.
• 2–3 years direct supervisory or people-management experience in manufacturing.
• Experience supervising hourly employees and addressing performance.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, equipment, tooling, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details.
• Understanding of safety, quality, production scheduling, workflow and labor planning.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise Fabrication and Sheet Metal employees with daily direction and performance expectations.
• Maintain visible shop-floor presence and enforce safety, quality, attendance, conduct, and schedule performance.
• Plan and assign daily work based on production schedules and employee capabilities.
• Review drawings, materials, and priorities to ensure work is ready to proceed.
• Monitor progress and address labor, material, equipment, quality, or workflow issues.
• Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
• Promote first-time-right quality and reduce defects, scrap, and waste.
• Coach, train, and evaluate employees and provide timely feedback on performance.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and performance decisions with HR.
• Develop technical and leadership depth within the departments to reduce dependence on individuals.
• Monitor labor utilization, productivity, overtime, and equipment usage.
• Lead daily production huddles and communicate priorities and risks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Project Management, Purchasing, Finishing and others to keep flow efficient.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, workflow, productivity, and cost.
