Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to define the technical vision and deliver a scalable Tax Platform that handles tax calculations for AWS and customers with multi-jurisdiction configurations.

You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and partner with product, tax compliance, and platform teams to unblock AWS’s largest customers and international expansion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own the system design and long-term technical vision for Tax Platform.
• Design and deliver multi-tenant tax engine and jurisdiction-specific configurations.
• Build scalable APIs and data models decoupling tax platform from tenants and use cases.
• Partner with Control Plane, Invoice Configuration and Marketplace teams to define interfaces.
