FreshtechIT, a leading global investment organisation, seeks a senior engineering leader to build and lead a small team responsible for a critical financial data and quantitative technology platform in New York. The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural ownership, delivering time-series data infrastructure, APIs, and AI-ready tooling, while collaborating with quants and technology leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of senior engineers while remaining hands-on
• Own the architecture of a core financial data platform
• Build high-performance time-series and financial data infrastructure
• Develop security, instrument and entity master capabilities
• Build APIs and libraries used by quantitative and investment teams
• Establish robust point-in-time, bitemporal and reconciliation capabilities
• Support research-to-production workflows
• Partner with quants, strategists, portfolio professionals and technology leadership
• Help shape an increasingly AI-native engineering environment
• Deep financial markets / quantitative technology experience
• Strong systems design and performance instincts
• Experience building platforms that sophisticated engineers and quants actively choose to use
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills
• AI experience is highly relevant, including Claude, Codex, MCPs, agentic workflows, hooks, skills and evaluation frameworks.
