Job summary

Archinect in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Lead Architect to direct architectural production and technical development, translating design concepts into coordinated, buildable documentation. The role leads design teams and BIM standards.

You will guide architects, coordinate with BIM/modeling, and ensure deliverables meet the firm's quality standards. Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD and knowledge of codes is required; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lead Architect to lead the architectural production and technical development of projects, translating design concepts into coordinated, buildable, and high-quality documentation.

The Lead Architect will guide architectural teams, oversee technical development, maintain BIM standards, and ensure that project deliverables meet the firm's design and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate conceptual design direction into coordinated architectural documentation.
• Lead the architectural production team throughout the different phases of a project.
• Coordinate and supervise Architects, Designers, and BIM/modeling team members.
• Assign tasks, establish priorities, and monitor progress and deliverables.
• Review architectural drawings and models to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Develop and coordinate architectural details, materials, systems, and documentation.
• Maintain consistency and quality across project documentation.
• Coordinate architectural work with structural, MEP, and other consultants.
• Support compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, zoning regulations, and project standards.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with Project Managers and Project Directors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• Professional architectural credentials/license preferred according to applicable requirements.
• 6+ years of professional experience in recognized architecture firms.
• 3+ years of experience leading architectural/design teams.
• Strong experience developing architectural projects from design through documentation.
• Strong understanding of architectural detailing, technical coordination, and construction documentation.
• Ability to lead teams while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Rhino, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, D5, or similar design and visualization tools.
• Strong BIM modeling and documentation capabilities.
• Knowledge of local and international building codes, accessibility standards, zoning, and other architectural regulations.

Language Requirements

• English: Professional proficiency required.
• Spanish: Bilingual English/Spanish candidates strongly preferred.
