Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking an experienced Arborist III to lead the Tree Care team within Facilities and Business Operations on the Orlando campus. This hands-on leadership role focuses on directing daily tree care tasks, ensuring safe, efficient completion, and maintaining health and aesthetics of UCF's tree canopy.

You will coordinate diverse arboricultural activities, supervise crew performance, and act as the customer-facing point of contact for the department while upholding

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or Equivalent and 4+ years of relevant arboricultural experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the daily operations of the tree crew, ensuring tasks are performed safely and to highest standards.
• Tree installation, pruning, removals, stump grinding, root remediation, and disease management.
• Manage workflow, training, and employee development to maintain optimal performance.
• Maintain and oversee all tree care equipment and tools, ensuring safety and proper maintenance.
• Provide coaching and training on procedures and SOPs, and ensure quality checks meet standards.
• Coordinate safety and tree care training for the team and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Act as a resource for technical guidance and problem resolution.
• Lead vegetation debris removal during natural disasters, overseeing safe removal of fallen trees and branches.
