Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Long Grove, IL seeks a Crew Lead to direct a tree-care crew and equipment, planning and executing assigned arboricultural tasks on site.

Responsibilities include leading pruning, thinning, removal of deadwood, installing cables and braces, mentoring crew members, and ensuring safety protocols. Offering full-time permanent employment with benefits and a starting wage of $30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Climb Trees and lead a crew using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for clients.
• Follow the H.O.P.E. process (Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment).
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
