Job summary

Faire is a technology wholesale platform seeking an Applied AI/ML Scientist tech lead to own vision, strategy, and execution for models powering a two-sided marketplace of brands and retailers. You will work across structured/unstructured data, applying personalization, causal inference, LTV modeling, and DL/LLMs to improve discovery and trust.

You will mentor data scientists, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help scale a high-growth platform while delivering high-quality ML

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience applying ML to real-world problems.
• Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, growth, personalization, incentives, or trust/quality.
• Experience with causal inference, predictive/LTV modeling, recommendations, information extraction, or DL/LLMs.
• Strong programming skills.
• Experience as a tech lead and mentoring scientists.
• Strong communication in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive data science vision, strategy, and execution end-to-end, as pod lead across cross-functional workstreams.
• Develop personalized recommendation, retrieval, and ranking models; build content and retailer embeddings.
• Optimize marketing spend via targeting, personalization, experimentation, and causal inference.
• Predict lifetime value to prioritize sales and personalize the user experience.
• Improve cold-start recommendations and exploration for new users and selections.
• Extract insights from internal/external data to enrich leads and power personalization.
• Use deep learning, multi-modal LLMs, and human-in-the-loop training for content understanding.
• Build detection and quality systems to reduce bad experiences (counterfeits, policy violations).
• Mentor Senior ML Scientists and Analytics Engineers.
