Job summary

Faire Wholesale Inc. is seeking an Applied AI/ML Scientist Lead to own vision, strategy, and execution for models powering our two-sided marketplace, connecting brands and retailers.

You will work across structured and unstructured data, deploying personalization, causal inference, and LLM-driven solutions to improve discovery, trust, and growth. You will mentor other scientists, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and influence roadmap decisions as we scale a global wholesale

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience applying machine learning to real-world problems.
• Experience with e-commerce, marketplaces, growth, personalization, incentives, or trust and quality.
• Experience with causal inference, predictive/LTV modeling, recommendations, information extraction, entity resolution, and/or DL/LLMs.
• Willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
• Experience as a tech lead mentoring scientists and setting team strategy.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Drive data science vision, strategy, and execution end-to-end across cross-functional workstreams.
• Develop personalized recommendation and ranking models and embeddings for discovery.
• Optimize spend via targeting, personalization, and experiments with causal inference.
• Predict lifetime value to guide sales and onboarding personalization.
• Improve cold-start recommendations and audience targeting for new users.
• Extract insights from internal/external data to enrich leads and personalization.
• Apply deep learning, multi-modal LLMs, and human-in-the-loop training for content understanding.
• Build detection and quality systems to reduce bad experiences and policy violations.
• Mentor Senior Scientists and Analytics Engineers; lead multiple streams.
