Job summary

Physical Superintelligence in Boston is seeking a Head of Applied AI to build and lead an organization that translates PSI's AI and physics into real commercial solutions. You will own end-to-end customer delivery, design the engagement workflow, and ship models and simulations that run in customers’ environments.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years applying ML and simulation to solve real-world commercial or engineering problems.
• At least three leading customer-facing technical teams (solutions engineering, forward-deployed engineering, or applied AI).
• Strong applied-ML and computational grounding; ability to model, debug, and reason about trade-offs.
• Experience owning the tools or interfaces through which technical work reaches users.
• Motivation for commercial problem-solving with real science.
• Nice to have: experience with digital twins, physics simulation, or ML for engineering domains.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Applied AI organization, hiring the founding team and defining operations.
• Own customer delivery end-to-end, scoping engagements, building models and simulations, and shipping in customers’ environments.
• Own interfaces between researchers and customers to ensure usable, trustworthy outputs.
• Partner with go-to-market on scoping, feasibility, and credible promises; escalate when engagements are at risk.
• Remain technically hands-on to set quality standards and ship working science.
• Collaborate with Core AI and Physics teammates to extend capabilities.
