Job summary

The Mississippi Department of Employment Security seeks an Applications and Development Manager to lead technical operations and oversee development, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical applications.

The role manages interstate and inter-agency data-exchange processes, supports modernization initiatives, coordinates with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams, and oversees contractor development work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in an information-technology environment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and other agencies/officials.
• Experience collaborating with state and federal agencies and familiarity with U.S. Department of Labor programs preferred.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass an extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical operations and oversee development, maintenance, and reliability of mission-critical applications.
• Manage interstate and inter-agency data-exchange processes.
• Support modernization initiatives and coordinate with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams.
• Oversee contractor development work and guide project delivery.
• Define scope, coordinate timelines, and manage incident-response efforts to maintain system stability.
