Title: Lead Application Engineer Thermal Interface Materials (TIM)

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Job Type: FTE/Permanent

What You'll Do

• Support all aspects of Thermal Interface Materials (TIM) product development and customer field service.
• Serve as a key liaison between the field and lab, capturing and translating customer needs into product/application solutions.
• Design and oversee internal screening evaluations for both developmental and commercialized products.
• Optimize material assembly processes and engage directly with customers to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally across product development, sales, and engineering.
• Provide on-site technical support at customer locations when needed.
• Travel up to 25% globally to support consumer electronics manufacturing customers.
• Allocate approximately 50% of the time working with Lab and Application Engineering teams, and 50% with customers on direct technical support.
• Understand customer culture and proactively anticipate needs to guide product/process development.
• Mentor and support global teams in both technical execution and business strategy.
  
  

What Makes You a Good Fit

• A bachelor/master's degree with 7+ years of working experience or a doctor's degree with 5+ years of working experience in R&D or application engineering field .
• Educational background in engineering or material science is required.
• Strong technical knowledge of TIM products and experience with customer-facing application support is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with material handling process (e.g., dispensing, printing) is a plus.
• Understanding of thermal products testing is required.
• Experience with statistical analysis tools such as MinTab and/or JMP is desirable.
• Proven success working with cross functional teams across sales, product development, and marketing is strongly preferred.
