Job summary

Egen is seeking a technical leader to lead and mentor a team of application engineers. You will guide architecture, review code, and drive delivery of production-ready Java applications and microservices using Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.

You will champion cloud-native, microservices, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and SRE practices, migrating workloads to GCP/GKE and collaborating with platform, security, and DevOps teams to raise engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, application testing, and production troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of application engineers, providing technical guidance, architectural direction, and code reviews.
• Design, develop, and maintain production-ready applications and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
• Apply microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native principles to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Drive application modernization, containerization, and migration from VM-based environments to GCP and GKE.
• Implement testing strategies, observability practices, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliability and production readiness.
• Collaborate with platform engineering, DevOps, security, and architecture teams to establish engineering standards.
