Job summary

EVONA in Seattle, WA is seeking a Principal Antenna Engineer for Radar Payloads to own the end-to-end antenna design for flight-ready radar arrays. You will translate radar performance needs into hardware, drive integration, and lead beamforming and calibration with RF, FPGA/DSP, and software teams.

Expert-level phased-array experience, HFSS/CST/FEKO simulations, and hands-on RF layout are essential. This role supports spacecraft integration and environmental qualification, with export controls

Qualifications

• Expertise in phased-array antennas, impedance, mutual coupling, and scan behavior.
• Hands-on EM modeling and measurement across frequency bands.
• Experience with beamforming and array calibration.
• High-frequency PCB, feed, and RF component design.
• Proficiency with HFSS, CST, or FEKO.

Responsibilities

• Own phased-array antenna design and EM modeling, from requirements through architecture and trade studies.
• Build and measure prototypes, correlating EM models to test data.
• Optimize and calibrate array performance across frequency and scan angle.
• Develop beam-steering and alignment methods, working closely with RF, FPGA/DSP, and software teams.
• Support spacecraft integration and environmental qualification.
