Penn State University is seeking an experienced Research and Development Engineer to join the ARL antennas, computational electromagnetics, and propagation group in Reston, VA. The role focuses on RF sensor systems, antenna design, and development of advanced prototype hardware.

You will mentor staff, drive complex projects, collaborate across disciplines, and pursue funding from sponsors while delivering cutting-edge electromagnetic analyses and designs for potential DoD and government

Qualifikationen

• Experience in antenna design, antenna and electromagnetic analysis tools, computational electromagnetics, and implementation of new and established techniques.
• Proven successful experience conducting antenna research and development within a team.
• Effective at presenting in front of large groups of senior level professionals; conveying information to drive action or decision.
• Past successful experience developing technical proposals, writing whitepapers, etc.

Aufgaben

• Plan and direct research multiple large antenna development projects involving novel antenna designs and evaluation.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary activities between antenna development, analysis, and prototype development.
• Lead extremely complex antenna designs and analyses impacting current or future products.
• Maintain liaison with colleagues and units, acting independently on technical matters.
• Propose and lead new antenna design initiatives and identify funding opportunities.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and project evaluation for goals and objectives.
• Participate in major proposal preparation and presentations.
