Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University in Reston, VA seeks an experienced Research and Development Engineer to lead antenna design and EM analyses as part of ARL. You will guide prototype development, supervise staff scientists and engineers, and contribute to strategic technical initiatives for national or international impact.

Ideal candidates have 14+ years of relevant experience, proven proposal development skills, and fluency in Matlab, Python, C++, HFSS, XFdtd, CST and FORTRAN.

Qualifications

Experience in antenna design and electromagnetic analysis tools.
Proven track record conducting antenna R&D in a team.
Fluent in multiple scientific programming languages (Matlab, Python, C++, HFSS, XFdtd, CST, FORTRAN).

Responsibilities

Plan and direct large antenna development projects and prototype testing.
Coordinate cross-disciplinary research between antenna design and electromagnetic analysis.
Lead complex antenna designs and provide technical mentorship to staff.
Develop proposals and present technical results to sponsors.
Maintain liaison with internal and external colleagues and units.
