Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking a Lead Android Mobile Engineer for a client project in Madison, WI.

You will design, develop and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern frameworks, delivering scalable mobile solutions that support critical customer interactions. You will collaborate with product owners, UX designers, QA, and backend developers, participate in Agile ceremonies, and drive architectural decisions using MVVM, Clean Architecture, or MVI patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years native Android development experience.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and Android UI frameworks.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and cloud services.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated deployment, and Agile.
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, lifecycle, and performance optimization.
• Understanding of OO design and secure app development.
• Familiarity with MVVM, Clean Architecture or MVI.

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lead Android Mobile Engineer in Madison, WI. Key Responsibilities: Android Application Development:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performing native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android frameworks
• Deliver scalable, secure, and reliable mobile solutions that support critical customer interactions
• Collaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, QA Engineers, and Backend Developers to deliver customer-focused features
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, estimation, and technical design discussions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of overall software engineering experience
• 5+ years of native Android development experience
• Strong experience building applications with Jetpack Compose and/or traditional Android UI frameworks
• Experience in integrating RESTful APIs and cloud-based services
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment processes, and Agile development methodologies
• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android lifecycle management, and mobile application performance optimization
• Strong understanding of software design principles, object-oriented programming, and secure application development
• Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, MVI, or similar
• Expert-level proficiency with Kotlin

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
