Job summary

Machine Learning Technologies, LLC is seeking a Lead Android Engineer in New Jersey to drive design, architecture, and delivery of scalable Android applications. You will mentor peers, shape technical direction, and ensure high-quality mobile experiences.

You will work with Kotlin, Java, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android patterns in an enterprise setting, integrating REST/GraphQL APIs, payment gateways, and CI/CD pipelines within an Agile team.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable Android applications for enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Java in Android development.
• Familiarity with modern Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture).
• Proficiency with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Room, WorkManager, Navigation).
• Experience with API integration (REST/GraphQL) and networking libraries (Retrofit, OkHttp).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead Android application design, development, architecture, testing, and production support.
• Develop applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, AndroidX, Hilt/Dagger, and Room.
• Integrate REST/GraphQL APIs, Retrofit, OkHttp, OAuth, and backend services.
• Work on mobile payments, checkout, POS, and payment gateway integrations.
• Implement performance optimization, automated testing, and production monitoring.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Gradle, Fastlane, or Firebase.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and provide technical leadership.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Backend teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
