Job summary

Speechify seeks an experienced Team Lead for its Android-focused product work. You will own core features end to end, write and review code, and mentor others while ensuring fast, reliable releases across distributed teams.

You will collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering, driving improvements in tests, automation, and release processes. This hands-on leader role requires strong communication, strategic thinking, and a passion for shipping great user experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on leadership.
• Proficient in Kotlin and Android ecosystems.
• Experience shipping and maintaining background audio or other long-running background work.
• Understanding of tests and how to approach testing beyond code coverage.
• Able to drive team improvements that stick and explain costs to reach them.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end from design to release.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features.
• Review pull requests and give constructive feedback.
• Unblock the team and resolve blockers quickly.
• Ensure shared components are maintainable and well documented.
• Plan releases to focus team effort on decisions.
• Coordinate with Product, Design, and Engineering early.
