Job summary

Speechify is seeking a hands-on Team Lead to own core Android product work and to raise how the team collaborates around it. This role combines writing code, reviewing code, and owning features end to end, with a strong emphasis on delivering reliable software for a distributed team.

You'll help the team decide which version to use, unblock blockers, and ensure the release process is efficient and thorough, while mentoring others and driving architecture improvements across the Android platform.

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, working closely with our design team — from the decision through to release
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Review pull requests and give the feedback that helps others learn and improve
• Unblock the team when someone is stuck and drive progress
• Notice when a component should become the team standard and execute the change
• Keep shared components reliable, well-tested, and easy to pick up for others
• Shift verification left by increasing automated checks and reducing manual steps
