Job summary

Speechify is hiring a remote Team Lead to own core product work and raise how the team operates. This hands-on role involves coding, code reviews, and owning features from inception to release.

The team is flat and leadership is demonstrated through technical excellence, reliable delivery, and strong communication. You will drive major features end-to-end, improve reliability metrics, review pull requests, unblock the team, and align implementations with shared standards while reducing friction

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, from concept through to release, in collaboration with design.
• Maintain and improve reliability metrics for key features and monitor system health.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback to help the team learn.
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and drive decisions when multiple solutions exist.
• Recognize when one implementation should become the team standard and drive the change.
• Keep shared components well-documented, tested, and easy to hand off.
• Advise on process changes when the team is ready to evolve how it works.
• Reduce manual steps to achieve a correct release and streamline verification.
• Address recurring problems by changing the underlying setup to prevent repeats.
