Job summary

Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield seeks a senior analytics leader to guide a team of analysts and data scientists in supporting corporate strategic initiatives. You will oversee the design and delivery of evidence-based recommendations, ensuring models and data reach key stakeholders and leadership.

The role requires advanced degrees or equivalent experience, strong leadership, problem-solving, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, accounting, computer science, engineering, or economics, plus 2 years of applicable work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred STEM or quantitative discipline) with 4 years direct work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in analytical or strategic roles with leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong problem solving and consultative analysis experience with data-driven insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization.
• Proficiency in analytics tools and programming; Health insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively consult and communicate with key departments to solve complex business problems.
• Lead and train the team on problem solving from problem definition to communication of results.
• Utilize data science methods to enable solutions and improve outcomes.
• Provide leadership and day-to-day management of resources and budgeting for staff
• Drive collaboration to define, design, and maintain self-service reporting suites and models.
• Manage multiple projects to support corporate strategic plan initiatives.
• Build or oversee statistical models and ensure proper implementation and documentation.
• Monitor analytics trends and adopt useful advancements.
