Rystad Energy in Houston seeks a Lead Analyst to guide the Americas oil market coverage within our Commodity Markets – Oil team. You will supervise a small group, develop regional fundamentals, and deliver ad hoc analysis to clients.

You will coordinate with global teams, track crude and product balances, and present insights at conferences while mentoring colleagues and contributing to research products.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years in oil insights or trading analysis with strong quantitative skills.
• Engineering degree preferred; other technical degrees considered with oil market experience.
• Knowledge of crude oil and refined products markets, margins, and trade flows.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of analysts to monitor Americas oil market developments and deliver insights.
• Develop regional fundamental analysis including supply, demand, and inventories.
• Collaborate with global teams to form cross-regional views on balances and margins.
• Provide leadership on NGL/LPG dynamics within the Americas and mentor staff.
• Present research at conferences and engage with clients to generate leads.
