Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking a Supply Technician Ammunition Inspector, Lead, on-site at Fort Hood, TX. You will perform and document all types of ammunition inspections, determine condition codes, and oversee surveillance duties under USG guidelines.

Applicants must have MOS 89B (55B) or 5 years in ammo surveillance, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to pass pre-employment screening. CDL with passenger endorsement and a high school diploma are desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have MOS 89B (55B) or 5 years of ammo surveillance workshop experience.
• Strong MS Office skills and ability to document inspections.
• Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
• Must be able to receive a favorable Tier-1 investigation and obtain CAC.
• Must meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Performs all types of ammunition inspections (Receipt, Turn In, Initial Receipt, Safety in Storage, Periodic, Storage Monitoring).
• Documents inspection results in the Munitions History Program and assigns condition codes.
• Requests changes to Condition Codes based on inspection results.
• Receives and disseminates restriction information for munitions per DA PAM 742-1.
• Inspects storage facilities and holds areas; oversees surveillance operations.
• Provides oversight and mentorship of surveillance staff and enforces safety standards.
• Leads administrative duties: personnel accountability, timekeeping, and reporting.
• Works environment includes overtime; exposure to heat, dust, cold, and weather.
