Job summary

Shape Corp. is seeking an experienced Aluminum Extrusion Process Engineer to drive process optimization and manufacturing excellence across the full extrusion lifecycle, including billet loading, extrusion, downstream processing, and heat treatment.

The role will lead scrap reduction initiatives, support new product introductions, and partner with operations to improve performance, quality, and throughput while serving as the technical authority for extrusion processes on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret CAD data, blueprints, GD&T, CMM reports, customer dimensional specifications.
• Share lessons learned proactively and train other engineers on process improvements.
• Provide process design and improvements in a cost-efficient manner.
• Proficient in completing cost justifications with ROI.
• Responsible for safety in process design and daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, TS standards and related procedures.
• Ensure quality outputs from daily activities.
• Use data collection and analysis to support decisions.
• Coordinate DOE design and analysis.
• Execute planned activities on time.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes during Launch & Manufacturing Support.
• Support problem-solving teams to ensure quality parts and a safe work environment.
• Provide on-call support to meet customer demands.
• Develop maturation plans and timelines aligned with risk mitigation.
• Lead activities to launch new business and execute maturation processes.
• Participate in regular launch team meetings and PFMEA development.
• Propose and procure capital to support new business needs.
• Share information with peers to standardize launching practices.
• Identify opportunities to reduce maturation time and optimize processes.
• Participate in fill and warp simulations.
• Lead activities to win new business and support PPTAR processes.
• Ensure accurate Minimum Process Requirements (MPR).
• Develop project charters and milestones for Funnel Projects.
• Implement new manufacturing technologies with design guidelines and training.
