Arora Engineers seeks a Senior Airfield Electrical Designer to lead the design and coordination of airfield electrical systems across airports nationwide. You will guide projects from planning through construction, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role emphasizes strong technical leadership, effective communication, and a focus on safe, reliable airfield infrastructure in a fast-paced consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• EIT or PE preferred.
• 5–12 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical design.
• Experience with aviation or airfield electrical systems required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SKM Power Tools.
• Strong understanding of applicable electrical and aviation-related codes and standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Ability to drive and maintain a safe driving record.
• Valid state driver’s license (any in US).
• In possession of appropriate paperwork to gain and maintain employment in the US.
• Ability to pass pre-hire drug testing and background check(s).
• Ability to meet worksite security requirements including criminal background checks and DHS threat assessment evaluation

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate airfield electrical systems including airfield lighting and signage.
• Electrical distribution systems and NAVAIDS.
• Interior and exterior lighting systems.
• Controls and emergency backup systems.
• Support projects from planning and design through construction administration.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, clients, contractors, airport stakeholders, and teaming partners.
• Participate in project meetings, presentations, and design coordination sessions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and technical staff.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of growing team members.
• Contribute to process improvements that enhance project delivery and team performance.
