Job summary

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET) in Goldsboro, NC is seeking an Aircraft Mechanic II - Sheet Metal to perform intermediate to complex sheet metal work, airframe repairs and structural modifications. You will troubleshoot airframe and powerplant systems while prioritizing workloads and mentoring junior technicians on the floor.

The role requires leadership in complex tasks, ability to inspect peers, and precise use of measurement tools.

Qualifications

DoD Secret Security Clearance to access airfields and military installations.
Broad knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, airframe modification, and structural repair.
Combined knowledge of airframe and powerplant systems to diagnose malfunctions.
Experience with sheet metal shop tools and precision measurement devices.
Ability to read aviation technical publications and blueprints.

Responsibilities

Repair, modify, and fabricate aircraft sheet metal structures and components of moderate difficulty.
Form, bend, cut, and shape aerospace-grade materials using brakes, shears and hand tools.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broader aircraft components including flight controls and hydraulics.
Provide MEC and ECOD data inputs and assist MWOs with recommendations.
Lead maintenance teams, manage daily workflows, and authorize peer inspections.
Read and interpret technical documentation and manufacturer manuals to solve problems.
Use micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches and test equipment to verify fit and clearance.
Accurately update aircraft logs and maintenance records with minimal guidance.
