West Star Aviation Inc. in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician to supervise a team of technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship and FAA standards.

The role emphasizes problem solving, hands-on engineering, and effective project flow management. You will mentor staff, coordinate multiple projects, perform mechanical tasks on airframes, troubleshoot systems, and maintain strong communication with customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and Airframe & Powerplant License are required.
• 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred.
• 4+ years in program-specific airframes.

Responsabilités

• Lead the team to complete the necessary jobs/tasks, using good judgement for day-to-day tasks and involving the supervisor when needed.
• Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift.
• Look for opportunities to reduce aircraft turnaround time within your area of responsibility.
• Train and mentor technicians assigned to your projects.
• Supervise team members in daily workload and ensure quality and schedule adherence.
• Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned; scheduling and quality are essential.
• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems, including removal/installation of panels and components, and sheet metal work.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft when designated.
• Inspect aircraft and components as designated.
• Coordinate with customer in project management, pricing, and support roles.
• Communicate effectively in English.
• Handle other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
