Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in St. Louis is seeking an experienced Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician A&P with avionics focus to lead a maintenance team on dayshift. The role requires an A&P license and 8 years of aviation experience, including Gulfstream aircraft exposure.

The position reports to Service Team Manager Jerod Meier’s team and offers a competitive hourly base pay, with benefits and advancement opportunities within a premier aviation organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical).
• A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional aircraft components including airframes, engines, landing gear, electrical, and control systems.
• Provide work directions to technicians performing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure FAA compliance and documentation requirements.
• Ensure completion of work orders sign-offs, shift turnovers, and related paperwork on time.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
• Identify (tag) customer property and store components securely.
• Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
• Oversee use of special support equipment for major components.
• Coordinate with other departments for overhaul or repair of customer property.

This position is for an Avionics focused AMT Team Lead on dayshift, Monday-Thursday from 6:00am-4:30pm.

This role will be on Service Team Manager Jerod Meier's team.

The base compensation range for this role is $47.73 - $55.68 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Position Purpose

Plan and coordinate various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Provide work directions to technicians performing aircraft maintenance and troubleshooting and repair duties.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

• Ensure required. maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems .
• Lead the repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
• Ensure completion of work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
• Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
• Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
• Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
• Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
• Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .

Additional Functions

• Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
• Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .
• Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required. .
• Maintain advanced knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures .

Perform Other Duties As Assigned. Other Requirements

• Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
• Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
