Job summary

Gulfstream in St. Louis is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician 2 - A&P to perform maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft components to ensure airworthiness and FAA compliance.

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years aviation maintenance experience, FAA A&P license, and a valid driver’s license. Reading blueprints is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical).
• A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Perform required maintenance and servicing of aircraft mechanical systems.
• Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft (airframes, engines, landing gear, electrical, control systems).
• Coordinate with inspection to ensure FAA and internal documentation compliance.
• Complete work orders, sign-offs, and shift turnovers in a timely manner.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications.
• Identify (tag) customer property and store components securely.
• Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
• Operate and oversee use of special equipment for major component removal/installation.
• Coordinate with other departments for overhaul or repair of customer property as needed.
• Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops and hangars clean.
• Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations, process specs, Repair Station and QC manuals.

Compensation

The base compensation range for this role is $32.13 - $37.48 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements

Position Purpose: Perform various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Perform aircraft maintenance and perform troubleshooting and repair duties requiring accuracy and skill.

Responsibilities

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

1. Perform required maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems.
2. Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems.
3. Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
4. Properly complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
5. Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
6. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
7. Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
8. Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components.
9. Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed.

Additional Functions:

1. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean.
2. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
3. Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required.
4. Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

1. Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
2. Knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
