Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician 3 - A&P for the second shift in St. Louis. The role requires an A&P license, a minimum of three years of aviation maintenance experience, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

  • 3 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical).
  • A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of the aircraft.
  • Coordinate with inspection to ensure FAA compliance and documentation.
  • Complete work orders, sign-offs, and handoffs accurately and timely.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and tag customer property; store components safely.
  • Follow SOPs and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
  • Oversee use of special equipment for removals and installations.
  • Coordinate with other departments for overhaul or repair as needed.
  • Apply Lean Initiatives to keep work areas clean.

This is a second shift (weekday evening) position.
The base compensation range for this role is $32.13 - $42.17 per hour.

Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors including but not limited to: minimum and preferred qualifications, knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, and location.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical). A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required. Valid Driver's License required.

Position Purpose:Perform various technical functions of aircraft maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of key aircraft components to ensure proper operation. Perform aircraft maintenance and perform troubleshooting and repair duties requiring accuracy and skill.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  1. Perform required. maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems .
  2. Repair, maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical and functional components of the aircraft including airframes, engine components, landing gear, electrical components, and control systems .
  3. Coordinate with inspection to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements .
  4. Properly complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner .
  5. Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications .
  6. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely .
  7. Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment .
  8. Operate and oversee use of special support equipment used in removal and installations of major components .
  9. Coordinate with other departments to arrange for the overhaul or repair of customer property as needed .
Additional Functions
  1. Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean .
  2. Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment .
  3. Coordinate movement of aircraft, as required. .
  4. Maintain advanced knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements
  1. Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  2. Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.).
  3. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
