Role Overview: What You’ll Be Doing

Wheels Up is looking for a world-class Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician in West Palm Beach, FL to join our team of dedicated and passionate professionals, fueled by the most powerful brand in private aviation, as we continue our mission of democratizing the private aviation space through cutting-edge technology and innovative product and service offerings.

Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

• Directly responsible to the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance for the operation he/she is assigned. Will be the first line of supervision for their crew members.
• Assure all work accomplished by his/her crew is in accordance with the Company manuals and applicable FARs.
• Lead, direct and give on the job training to maintenance personnel.
• Ensure that proper equipment and safety practices are being used.
• Coordinates daily maintenance tasks and events with crew members.
• Evaluate each aircraft that is in work and assign the proper manpower to each aircraft daily to ensure inspection meets Return to Service dates.
• Ensure all parts, tooling and outside services have been ordered and/or scheduled to arrive in time for Return to Service date.
• Schedule aircraft cleanings at the end of each scheduled inspection to ensure readiness for revenue service.
• Communicate all Return to Service adjustments to the Manager of Maintenance and Maintenance Control.
• Communicate with Maintenance Control on a case-by-case basis for unscheduled aircraft work.
• Ensure the work area and equipment used by his/her crew is adequate and kept clean and orderly, following all safety instructions.
• Review work packages and confirm all items are signed off properly by the floor technicians.
• Work closely with the inspection department to ensure all RII and CAT1 inspection procedures are followed.
• Understand and follow procedures from the aircraft manufacturer maintenance manuals.
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned by the Manager of Aircraft Maintenance or higher authority.
• Have a good working knowledge of all Microsoft applications.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table: Education & Certification Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must hold a current Airframe and Powerplant License.
• Knowledgeable of the FAR’s.
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to work in an environment subject to changing climate conditions and moderate noise levels.
• Able to exercise good judgment in a team environment as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety.
• Problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Prior experience with Corridor.
• Able to read and understand Company and Manufacturer Manuals.
• Able to perform all line maintenance functions unsupervised at any time.
• Able to lift and move items of 70 pounds or more regularly.
• Must own and provide a minimum set of tools.

At Wheels Up, we believe in fair compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The salary for this role ranges from $45/Hr. to $62/Hr., depending on various factors. We typically do not start individuals at the top of the salary range; your place within the range is based on what you bring to the table. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program, which rewards individual and organizational performance.
