Job summary

United Airlines seeks an experienced leader to oversee a Component Maintenance product center within Technical Operations in San Francisco. You will manage a unionized workforce, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and drive cost control and productivity in line with the company’s objectives.

You will guide technicians, assign resources, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining strong collaboration with management and regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Aeronautical, Electronic, Mechanical or related field or applicable experience.
• FAA A&P Certificate or Repairman’s Certificate.
• 5 years in aircraft maintenance on large transport aircraft with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations or FAA regulations.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications.
• Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of a Component Maintenance product center.
• Lead unionized workforce to meet section goals and safety objectives per schedule and CBA.
• Provide technical guidance on company policies and procedures to assist employees in performing tasks.
• Assign technicians and personnel to maximize productivity and control costs.
• Lead Continuous Improvement projects and foster teamwork to meet corporate goals.
• Provide leadership to labor workforce to maximize productivity per CBA and resources.
• Maintain fair, respectful work environment per policy and CBA rules.
• Execute performance goals aligned with divisional and company objectives.
• Monitor operational, financial, safety and HR performance objectives.
• Oversee labor timekeeping and cost control within the product line.
• Manage tactical, strategic and budgetary activities.
• Oversee safety and regulatory compliance of operations.
• Interface with regulatory authorities on local basis.
• Develop and execute tactical plans to implement strategy.
• Maintain communication with employee groups to update leadership.
• Lead on-shift labor workforce to maximize productivity and output.
