Job summary

Great River Technology (GRT), a subsidiary of Data Device Corporation, is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer to lead ARINC 818 design and VHDL/FPGA development for aerospace applications. This 100% onsite role in Albuquerque, NM demands extensive experience and mentoring of junior engineers.

You will drive hardware architecture, verification environments, and compliance activities, collaborating across Systems, Software, and Manufacturing teams to ensure robust, high-speed video and data

Qualifications

• ,Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive hardware design experience in aerospace/defense.
• Extensive VHDL experience for complex FPGA development in aerospace.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of high-speed digital interfaces and signal integrity.
• Experience with EDA tools for schematic capture, simulation, and FPGA development.
• Experience with test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a regulated, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for ARINC 818 design, fibre channel, video formats, timing and link integrity.
• Lead architectural definition and detailed design of ARINC 818 interfaces for avionics.
• Develop and execute ARINC 818 test plans for compliance and performance.
• Pioneer simulation methods for ARINC 818 and analyze signal integrity.
