Maximus is seeking a Lead AI Systems Engineer to join the AI Transformation and Experience team. You will design, build, test, deploy, and improve software with AI/ML as a key component, while maintaining strong software engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technologies.
• 5+ years of experience designing or building solutions in cloud environments.
• Experience owning software through deployment, production ops, troubleshooting, maintenance, and evolution.
• Strong fundamentals in API design, testing, source control and secure development.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into software systems or quick learning of new tech.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced AI software applications with scalability and enterprise integration.
• Develop and modify systems software to support internal end-user/business apps.
• Develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights/algorithms.
• Apply statistics and machine learning methods through code for tooling and modeling.
• Lead technical implementation and mentor junior engineers across teams.
• Build AI-enabled apps that integrate models, data, cloud services and APIs.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD, observability, security, and performance tuning.
• Explore emerging AI tech and determine practical production value.
