Job summary

Adobe is seeking a Principal AI Systems Engineer in New York to build AI-native infrastructure and cross-cutting platforms. You will own native C++ components, service connectivity, and model-backed workflows, ensuring safe, observable, and scalable AI-powered features across Adobe products.

You will lead architecture decisions, design reliable interfaces, and partner with product, data science, security, and governance teams to raise the bar for production AI systems.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep C++ expertise.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI, LLMs, agents, or model-backed systems into production software.
• Expertise in modern C++ design, memory management, concurrency, API design, debugging, and systems-level performance.
• Experience building cross-platform software across Windows, macOS, Linux.
• Practical understanding of AI system failure modes including hallucination and tool‑calling errors.
• Ability to design reliable interfaces between AI systems and deterministic software.

Responsibilities

• Architect native C++ infrastructure connecting product codebases to AI-powered services.
• Define interfaces, schemas, validation layers, and error-handling contracts for AI actions.
• Create bridges between product capabilities, AI orchestration, and backend services.
• Ensure AI-initiated actions are safe, predictable, and integrated with workflows.
• Lead architecture decisions through ADRs, design docs, and cross-functional reviews.
