Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Scientist – AI-Reasoning for Drug Discovery to architect an AI-Reasoning platform supporting Translational Safety decisions. The role centers on multimodal data across discovery to clinical stages, using LLMs and agentic systems to accelerate therapeutic development.

You will lead research, mentor teams, and drive collaboration with cross-functional experts to deliver innovative AI solutions and validate them with rigorous benchmarks.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI/ML or related fields with 2+ years of proven experience.
• Deep expertise in Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification, information theory, causal inference, graph neural networks, and related methodologies for agentic reasoning.
• Proficiency with agentic frameworks and deep learning platforms (PyTorch, TensorFlow); ability to extend tools for novel scientific applications.
• Exceptional Python programming skills, capable of architecting scalable solutions bridging innovation and production deployment.
• Ability to lead small teams of researchers to achieve success.
