Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Principal Technical Lead in Embodied AI to drive cutting-edge machine learning solutions for autonomous driving. You will design, architect, and deploy end-to-end models, mentor engineers, and shape onboard capabilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Remote role with occasional on-site consideration; strong background in Foundation Models and production ML is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or Machine Learning.
• Experience with large-scale Foundation Models and alignment methods.
• Experience deploying models in production and end-to-end ML workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end ML solutions aligned with GM’s mission.
• Apply unsupervised pre-training, imitation learning, RL, guidance, and selection to improve models.
• Collaborate to integrate distillation recipes for onboard driving models.
• Stay updated on AI frameworks and libraries.
• Lead projects from ideation to deployment and document learnings.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
