Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Principal Technical Lead in Trajectory Generation within the Embodied AI organization. You will drive end-to-end ML solutions for autonomous driving, architecting and deploying advanced models for real-world scenarios while mentoring engineers.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, apply RL and distillation techniques, and stay at the forefront of AI frameworks. This role requires strong communication and leadership to shape onboard ML capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale foundation models and alignment methods.
• Experience delivering applied research in the wild and maintaining best practices under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in PyTorch and Python.
• Experience deploying foundation models into production environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement technologies aligning models to GM’s mission.
• Apply RL, guidance, and selection to improve model performance and reliability.
• Collaborate to integrate distillation recipes for onboard driving models.
• Conduct research and stay updated on AI frameworks and libraries.
• Lead projects from ideation to deployment with documentation of learnings.
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing.
