Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a rapid-growth AI technology company in downtown Chicago. You’ll build next-generation AI agents that automate complex business workflows using Python, TypeScript, LangChain, LangGraph, Docker, REST APIs, and cloud-native infrastructure.

You’ll influence architecture, design scalable systems, and work across backend, frontend, and platform layers. Hybrid work from our Chicago office is available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong Python development experience.
• Professional experience with TypeScript.
• Experience building AI applications, LLM products, or agent-based systems.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Docker and containerization experience.
• Strong software architecture and system design skills.
• Experience building production-scale applications.

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing AI technology company to help build next-generation AI agents that automate complex business workflows. This opportunity required hybrid work from their downtown Chicago office.

In this role, you’ll work with a modern technology stack including Python, TypeScript, LangChain, LangGraph, Docker, REST APIs, and cloud-native infrastructure. This position is ideal for engineers who want to be at the forefront of agentic AI development. Rather than simply integrating AI into existing products, this team is designing and deploying intelligent systems capable of reasoning, taking actions, and orchestrating workflows autonomously. The organization is seeking a highly experienced engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, influencing architecture, and working across multiple layers of the technology stack.
