Job summary

Hex is seeking an AI Engineering Lead to define and scale the AI Engineering function while building a world-class team of AI Engineers. You will hire, mentor, and collaborate with product and engineering to accelerate the platform’s capabilities using LLMs and transformer models.

You will lead efforts to deliver robust AI infrastructure and excellent developer experiences, shaping the company’s AI strategy and technical direction across teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of people management experience leading high-performing teams.
• Deep familiarity with modern AI technology including LLMs, transformer models, agentic workflows, context management, and agentic evals.
• Driven to deliver business value and customer outcomes.
• Rigorous yet pragmatic with a balance of experimentation and speed.
• Strong communicator and collaborator across roles and teams.

Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date on the latest in AI technology and collaborate with engineering to push product capabilities.
• Define and implement the AI Engineering function as Hex scales.
• Hire and mentor an exceptional team of AI Engineers.
• Support a strong developer and research experience for teams working with AI.
• Deliver high-performing shared AI infrastructure, including search systems.
