Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to design, implement and operate production AI systems on AWS within its Information Technology department. The role combines hands-on engineering with shaping the foundation of a scalable AI platform for core insurance platforms.

Candidates will develop end-to-end AI/ML solutions, build RAG pipelines, and advance MLOps while aligning with enterprise governance and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software, data engineering, and 5 years AI/ML engineering.
• Hands-on experience building production AI/ML systems.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, LLMs, or NLP-based systems.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock or similar GenAI platforms.
• Experience with data pipelines and distributed systems.
• Experience deploying and operating systems in AWS.
• Working knowledge of MLOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring, versioning).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end AI/ML solutions including LLM-based apps.
• Build RAG pipelines using vector databases and enterprise data sources.
• Develop pipelines for multimodal data and integrate AI into core systems.
• Implement CI/CD, monitoring, and retraining for models in production.
• Lead by example, mentor engineers and set reusable patterns.
