Job summary

Franklin Templeton is seeking an AI/ML Lead Engineer to design and implement multi-agent systems for financial advisors, integrating data, portfolio performance, and compliance within a scalable platform. You will work on an AI platform team delivering advisor-facing insights across a global client base.

The role is hybrid and based in Stamford, CT, with potential location options in Stamford/San Ramon/San Mateo offices; the package includes a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years building LLM/GenAI/agent systems in production.
• Experience with LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks.
• Expert Python and distributed systems experience.
• Hands-on with vector databases (Pinecone/FAISS) and RAG architectures.
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and fault-tolerant systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production-grade multi-agent systems.
• Build agent workflows with context retrieval, reasoning, tool invocation, validation, and compliance checks.
• Develop distributed services with strong observability and failure handling.
• Establish tools and data agents to ground AI models in correct data.
• Embed AI agents into client-facing platform to surface insights for advisors.
• Establish evaluation frameworks for multi-step reasoning accuracy and financial correctness.
• Implement memory management and agent state persistence.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to translate requirements into architecture.
• Optimize latency, cost, and reliability; contribute to infrastructure decisions on model serving, caching, and orchestration.
